Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is recovering after a glass-throwing incident at a Beverly Hills restaurant left him requiring stitches. Foxx was celebrating his birthday at Mr. Chow on Friday night when an altercation broke out involving another party.
According to Foxx’s spokesperson, the glass struck him in the mouth, leading to his injuries. “He had to get stitches and is recovering,” the spokesperson stated, adding that police were called and the matter is under investigation.
The Beverly Hills Police Department responded to the incident, initially reported as an assault with a deadly weapon. However, their preliminary investigation determined it was a physical altercation rather than a weaponized attack. The department filed a report documenting the battery, but no arrests have been made.
Foxx’s involvement in the altercation remains unclear, with questions lingering over whether he was a direct participant or an innocent bystander.
This incident comes after Foxx’s public revelation about a serious medical emergency he faced last year. In his Netflix special Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was, the actor discussed a brain bleed that led to a stroke, describing the event as a life-altering mystery that doctors are still trying to understand.
The Beverly Hills Police Department has assured the community of its commitment to safety and will continue investigating the matter. Meanwhile, Foxx is focusing on recovery and has not provided additional details about the incident.
